The Crawford County Illinois Ghost Hunters Society was founded in 2000, by Jason Snider.
We investigate anywhere in Illinois and parts of Indiana. Our investigations focus on the
Crawford County area and surrounding counties.
We are a research team that scientifically investigates claims of paranormal phenomenon.
Even though we have "Ghost Hunters" in our title we do not go on an investigation looking
for ghosts! Our Investigation team goes into a location looking for a natural or scientific
explanation as for why our client is experiencing some sort of unusual occurrence that they
can not explain.
My team and I investigate cemeteries, houses, and any other place that might have the
presence of paranormal activity. Some of the tools we use are: thermal scanners, EMF
meters, air ion counters, motion detectors, tape recorders, night shot video cameras, digital
audio recorders, wireless video camera systems, laptop computers, Geiger counters, 35mm
cameras, thermal imaging cameras, static pods, DVR systems, vibration detectors, digital
cameras and most all logic and reason.
The CCIGHS investigation team picks up where other teams leave off! We are not satisfied
with paranormal anomalies captured on film or video! We want to scientifically evaluate
and document what effect these anomalies may have on their surrounding environment.
We also try to measure any type of environmental change that might take place in a
location where paranormal occurrences have been reported. Our team looks for changes in
multiple areas and fields such as humidity, barometric pressure, temperature, wind speed,
static fields, radio waves, electric fields, geomagnetic fields, radiation levels, negative and
positive air ion levels, decibel levels, Electro magnetic fields, UV light, IR light, and seismic
activity just to name a few.
We have done advanced research and experiments into the area of study known as
Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP). The CCIGHS helps lead the field in this area of study
and has came up with many terms, ideas, and techniques used in EVP research world wide!
We still have many ideas, techniques, and theories that have not been released to the public!
We operate in a special investigation team of four or seven, depending on the situation and
location. While conducting the investigations my team and I follow a strict set of guide
lines, rules, and protocol. We take a scientific approach to investigating the paranormal
and DO NOT use ouija boards, conduct seances, or rely on psychics. Our goal is to provide
evidence of life after death and other paranormal occurrences through, photography, audio
recordings, video recordings, and data collected from our equipment. We are a serious and
dedicated team of paranormal investigators and researchers and examine all natural
explanations before determining that what we find is of paranormal origin.
